PPOW gets a Jump Start
Help us take printmaking and papermaking into the community!
https://igg.me/at/mGrzaHL9bzk/emal/15783639 Follow this link to our Generosity fundraising page
The Center for Collaborative Research (CCR) enters its second year and we continue to move our organization forward offering workshops, classes, pop up demonstrations and other activities related to print and paper making. Our partnership with The Kenosha Creative Space is something to celebrate and our collaborations with them continue to be fun.
We have been offered a 2000 Ford e-350 super duty bus/van which will be dedicated for our PPOW activities. We are seeking donations to get the van outfitted to house our portable etching press and paper making equipment. When the van is finished we will be able to take our presses anywhere and set up a functioning shop in a matter of minutes.
This fundraising effort is being dedicated to help refurbish the Ford, build out the interior, fix up some of the rust and get it into roadworthy shape. The 2000 Ford is a V8 with 150,000 miles on the odometer, the tires are good, the liftgate works really well and it starts right up! The Ford will be painted blue and CCR's logo and PPOW will be emblazoned on the sides.
CCR is a 501 (c)(3} and all donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
If you have any questions or want to get involved with our project please contact us.

Victorian Christmas & Harbor Holiday, Saturday, December 2
CCR had the distinct privilege of working with Paul Aken, at the Kenosha Civil War Museum all day Saturday. Paul is the founder and proprietor of the Platen Press Museum, located in Zion Illinois.
Paul and I assisted over 500 people print the Victorian Christmas Celebration Card. We are using Civil War era field letter presses for the activity.
What Fun!

September is proving to be a busy month: we have had a drypoint workshop for young people and two for adults. We decided to hold our workshops in spite of low numbers; 2 students for our young peoples class and 3 for our adult drypoint class, and 3 for our Xerox transfer workshop.
Here are some images from the Xerox Transfer workshop.

Our first young printmakers workshop
It seems all good things start small. If that is the case, then we expect extraordinarily amazing activities to follow. Our first workshop for young children was small, but Zoe and Lucy dug in and made some wonderful work. (I'll post pictures of the work later). If you would like to explore printmaking, have some fun, and rediscover your inner child, contact us.
