The Block Party

On October 1st 2016, The Kenosha Creative Space and The Center for Collaborative Research participated in The Kenosha Block Party, sponsored by Backyard Dream Studios & Eisley Creative Co. There was live music, food, children's activities, and other activities, it was a wonderful way to share printmaking with the public and make new friends.

Center Co-Founder David Jones shows some folks how the Tortilla Press works. We gave away over 30 prints on that night.

David Jones, Francisco Loyola and  a guest all share in the excitement as another print is pulled.

Tortilla Press on Wheels @ the Kenosha Creative Space Fundraiser/Celebration

Saturday, September 24, 2016

This is our first official activity as the Center for Collaborative Research.  The Tortilla Press is a collaboration between Francisco Loyola and David Jones.  The Press still needs some modification and fine tuning but soon   we will be conducting workshops and demonstrations throughout Wisconsin.

We have a way to go, and the  event  was evidence of our dedication and intention to bring additional art activities to downtown Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Francisco Loyola and I did some sweeping and cleaning today. It feels good to be moving the Kenosha Creative Space & CCR forward. I am honored to be involved. There is much work to be done. I am beginning to get a sense of what this place will become.

We are on our way!!!!

Kenosha Creative Space, Project Manager Francisco Loyola, and David Jones tour  the future home of the Center for Collaborative Research and figure out how to as the sign says "SexitUP".

Over the last several years, besides a few kids looking for a place to party, the only inhabitants have been raccoons and wasps.

it's official!!!!

1st entry

And it begins, Marilyn Propp and I begin our transition from Chicago, IL. to Kenosha, WI.

On May 16, 2016 the Center for Collaborative Research, received it's 501 (c)(3) status. In a few weeks, there will be more announcements.

What this means is that it is now possible to create a space where a vigorous exchange of creative ideas, residencies, projects, workshops, lectures, performances, exhibitions and more can germinate and bloom.
